Puppies enter the world in order to be immeasurably loved and treasured, but sadly, they sometimes end up in the hands of merciless people.
Jennings was the sweetest puppy who deserved to be adored, and yet, instead of love, she experienced heartbreak and trauma.
Her cruel owner locked the pup in a wire crate and kept her outside. The mistreated canine sat for days in her own excrement, feeling miserable and terrified of humans.
Luckily, the rescuers saved her and brought her to Orangeburg County Animal Control in South Carolina.

After Jennings was placed in a loud shelter kennel, she retreated to the corner with her ears pulled back and started shaking uncontrollably.
The furbaby looked at the shelter staff with tearful eyes filled with fear.
Orangeburg County Animal Control posted a heartbreaking video of Jennings on their Facebook account and asked for a rescue that could take her in.
The rescuers at Labor of Love Transport Rescue came across her footage and they felt heartbroken. Jennings seemed hopeless and broken.
“When we saw his video yesterday, our hearts broke into pieces. We have never seen such a young puppy so terrified, and we rescue a lot of scared dogs,” the rescue wrote in a Facebook post.
The rescue took Jennings under their care. They promised to love her, and they reassured her that nobody would hurt her ever again.
They cleaned her up and renamed her Juniper (or Junie) for short.
The good people talked to the pup, showering her with positive words.
Juniper was too afraid of humans. She flinched every time her new human friends tried to touch her or pick her up.
Despite her enormous fear, the canine felt secure with her rescuers.
“One thing we already know about her, despite her tremendous fear of humans, she knows she is safe with us. She hasn’t once tried to bite or nip at all. She has tried to run away, but any scared dog would,” the rescue added.
Feeling Secure and Hopeful
The puppy was placed in a foster home where she met her foster siblings. They welcomed her and offered her guidance, helping her to build confidence.
“Actually it only took her a few days to be very playful with the other dogs. Now she struts around like she owns the yard and she is a happy little dog. She still struggles with trusting humans,” the rescue shared an update on Facebook.
The furbaby needed motherly love and support, so she bonded with Lucie Lou, a rescue mother dog who sensed that the puppy needed her.
Juniper began coming out of her shell. She enjoyed playing with Lucie Lou. She started smiling and her eyes looked hopeful.
Her foster family continued working with her. They treated her affectionately, trying to gain her trust.
Juniper started attending a doggie daycare which she enjoyed. It helped her come out of her shell.
She looks completely different from the broken dog who couldn’t stop shaking in the shelter kennel. Her eyes no longer look fearful. They twinkle with joy.
The South Carolina girl has the most beautiful smile on her sweet face.
I hope that the adorable puppy will find her happily ever after and forget all about her troubled past.
Thank you to the wonderful people who rescued her and gave her an opportunity to turn over a new page in life.
