Having countless rescues underneath their belts, the staff of Hope For Paws, a non-profit animal rescue group based in Los Angeles, California, knows to have a yummy cheeseburger at hand every time they go on a mission.
A yummy treat is an essential part of every rescuer’s kit because it not only fills the abandoned pup’s hungry belly but also helps them build trust with the rescuer.
So, when these Los Angeles rescuers got a phone call regarding an abandoned pup who needed a helping hand, they knew what their first stop would be – a local fast food!

Having the cheeseburger secured in their bag, the rescuers set out for the location with a mission to return to the shelter with the pup by their side.
Luckily, a dog lover who lived in the neighborhood managed to lure the puppy into their home, making the rescue mission a walk in the park.
As soon as the rescuers met the pup, they offered him the yummy food, making the pup immediately run toward them!
After giving him a couple of bites, a rescuer managed to get super close to him and offer him some warm pets.
This helped the pup feel completely relaxed around his new hoomans, allowing them to slip a leash around his head and take him to the car.
New Life
Arriving at the shelter, the pup, now named Aristotle, was welcomed with open hands and plenty of hugs.
Since he had spent a lot of time wandering the streets, his fur got long and dirty.
That is why the shelter staff decided to give this sweet boy a much-needed haircut and bath. It was a good thing they did since they found some foxtails embedded in his fur.
After he was all nice and clean, he underwent a medical exam, which showcased that he was as fit as a fiddle.
With this in mind, the shelter immediately found him a loving foster home where he could completely relax and decompress.
The days he spent with his foster family truly made Aristotle shine.
And, learning just how sweet and adorable he was, his foster family couldn’t imagine continuing their lives without him, so they decided to adopt him!
Npw Aristotle is spending his days living the life of every dog’s dreams – surrounded by love, affection, and adoration!
Be Careful About Foxtails
A foxtail is a spikelet or cluster of grass whose seeds tend to fall onto the ground, making it really easy for our furry friends to step on or even get into another part of their body.
Once they find their way into your dog’s body, foxtail seeds can lead to serious infection or health complications since they can’t be so easily broken down by our pup’s bodies.
Even though they do grow mostly in the western half of the U.S., they could be also found in other states as well so the next time you take your pup on a hike, keep an eye out for foxtails!
