While a teacher named Yolanda was approaching her workplace at San Marcos High School in Texas, she didn’t imagine the surprise that was waiting for her.
She was about to enter the school when five little fur babies showed up all of a sudden and started running toward her.
The malnourished puppies looked at the teacher with pleading eyes, asking her for much-needed help and compassion.
Yolanda was compelled to help them. She made her way inside the school and sought assistance from her coworker, Belinda Peña, who is a senior assistant at the school.

When Peña went outside to check on the babies, she spotted a cardboard box nearby and realized that the fur babies were abandoned.
The hungry pups managed to escape the box and ask for help.
Once the good humans picked up the box, they read the heartbreaking note written by the person who left the puppies outside the Texas school.
“Dog shelter didn’t want them. We can’t take care of them. The original owner wanted to throw them. I’m sure you can do something. I’m sorry,” the note read.
Both the teachers and the staff collected the puppies and took care of them. Since it was hot, they gave them a drink in order to help them cool off.
The staff who worked limited hours during the summer was glad that they happened to be at their workplace and help the little pups.
“If not, who knows what would have happened?” Peña told The Dodo.
The good humans called animal control. As they waited for the officer to arrive, the staff played with the sweet babies.
“They were the cutest things. They had big old ears … Just happy little puppies,” Peña added.
One teacher fell in love with one of the puppies and decided to take him home.
Looking For Loving Forever Homes
Kay Lynn Dodd, a school counselor, was captivated by the remaining four puppies. When the animal control officer arrived to take them, Dodd was unsure if she could bear to say goodbye to them.
“The officer was like, ‘Well, it is the end of the day, I can’t guarantee somebody’s going to be able to be there at the shelter to intake them. And I [was] like, ‘I can’t have that on my conscience,’” Dodd told The Dodo.
The good-hearted woman brought them home in order to foster them. She wished to give them a lot of love and prepare them for their forever homes.
Owing to the wonderful care Dodd pampered them with, the puppies thrived. They enjoyed playing in their foster home and taking in all the love Dodd showered them with.
She named them Rotund, Buttercup, Bandit, and Snickers. The siblings felt grateful to their foster mom and proved to be very affectionate.
As much as they love spending time with Dodd, the furballs can’t wait to meet their humans who would love them to the moon and back.
I hope that the lovely pups will soon realize their greatest dream.
