Even though we have lived side by side with all kinds of animals for years now, some of us still don’t understand how they function.
Many people still believe that animals only enjoy being around their own species, and that, for instance, cats and dogs can never be in the same room, but that cannot be further from the truth.
Animals love anybody who is kind – no matter their size or species, and sometimes when they are in a bit of a pickle, they tend to stick together and look after one another.
Today’s story serves as proof of that.

I Will Look After You, Buddy
When Hope for Paws, a non-profit animal rescue group based in Los Angeles, California, received a text about two stray pups, one of them being seriously injured, they immediately dropped everything they were doing and headed down to the location.
When they finally arrived, they had some trouble locating them at first. However, one of the rescuers was approached by a stray kitty, and when they decided to follow her, they saw that he was the friend of the pups they were looking for.
All of them were hiding underneath a car, afraid that this hooman wanted to hurt them, too.
The rescuer then realized that he needed to figure out a way to get the friends in a kennel without spooking them even more.
He put up a fence all around the car, trying to keep them in one place. Unfortunately, the injured dog managed to escape.
The pup, now named Mickey, had a wire embedded around his neck that caused him a lot of pain. Luckily, the hooman knew that he had to bring some yummy food so he could earn his trust and lure him into the kennel.
The plan worked like a charm, and in no time, one of the pups was caught.
The other pup, Minnie, did get spooked after seeing her friend being rescued, but the hooman was able to save her pretty fast.
Now, it was time for Mortimer, the cat. He was also a very good boy so the rescuer was able to get the entire group in his car in record-breaking time. Finally, it was time to head down to the Los Angeles rescue.
Finally Safe
While he was driving to the rescue, he contacted all the vets as the pup really needed their help. Dr. Merion, one of the vets, had already gone home, but when she heard about Mickey’s situation, she immediately rushed back.
The wire that was embedded into his neck was swiftly removed, the wound was cleaned, and the pup was finally able to recover.
Mortimer, the cat, was diagnosed with Feline Immunodeficiency Virus but not to worry… he is well taken care of and will soon be taken to a loving foster home.
As for Minnie, she loyally sticks by Mickey’s side, licking his wound and doing everything to make him feel better.
Just a few weeks later, both Minnie and Mickey were taken to an incredible foster home as they did not want to separate these two adorable friends.
With all three of them being in incredible homes, the heart of their rescuer was full of joy.
He knows that his efforts paid off and that he provided these adorable furry friends the lives they deserved all along.
And, for that, he deserves a big thank you. You really are the change that thisorMila Kirsten
