When Isabella got a little closer, she discovered a truly shocking sight – two puppy siblings, only a few months old, snuggling next to each other trying to stay warm.

The pups were in terrible condition. Both of them were extremely emaciated and starving, which is why Isabella wasted no time and gently scooped them up.

To make things worse, the cardboard box left right next to a trash can indicated that the pups had recently been abandoned by their owners. Suffering such a cruel act of abandonment must’ve been traumatizing for these tiny furballs, and Isabella knew just the cure.

With some TLC and timely care, she tried to make the puppies feel at home.

While the one she named Chacara responded amazingly, the other pup displayed extreme lethargy. Right then, Isabella realized she needed to look for a vet!

Then Comes Another Heartbreak

The lethargic pup, who continued to show signs of weakness, was diagnosed with dog enteritis. Although it is a curable condition, it was so advanced that the pup needed immediate blood transfusion and fluids in order to have a fighting chance.

The vet team spent days treating her to the best of their abilities. Sadly, even that wasn’t enough. A few days later, the puppy lost the battle with her disease and crossed the rainbow bridge.

It took days for heartbroken Chacara to recover from the loss of her sister. Once part of a pair, she was now all alone and didn’t know life without her sibling.

Then, Isabella got an idea! She rescued another pup in the meantime, and thought it would be a great idea to pair him with Chacara. And, boy, was she right!

A little Jack warmed up to his furry sister within hours, and the two became inseparable!

With the new pup around, Chacara started to feel better, eventually overcoming the pain from losing her beloved sister.

Jack became her safe haven, a friend, and a shoulder to cry on.

The two grew to become the best of friends in the world, filling each other’s days with joyful adventures and happiness.
