Heartbroken Senior Pup Left Tied To A Picnic Table With A Note Saying That He’s A ‘Good Boy’

When they were coming into work one summer morning, the Cuse Pit Crew (CPC), a nonprofit based in Syracuse, N.Y., didn’t expect to have such a hard day.

Receiving information that somebody left their senior pup, Max, tied up in a park really did take a toll on them and they would carry it throughout the entirety of the day.

Contacting the Syracuse Police and Dog Control, the crew of rescuers met at the park in order to provide this sweet boy with the help he so desperately needed.

Because the Cuse Pit Crew advocates for responsible Pit Bull ownership, seeing Max so depressed, waiting for somebody to finally rescue him brought tears to their eyes. Luckily, everything was about to change.

“This morning, sweet Max was left tied to a picnic bench in Syracuse’s Schiller Park along with this note. We met Syracuse Police and Dog Control there, who then got pictures and transported Max to the emergency vet for care,” the Cruse Pit Crew wrote in a Facebook post.

But before they got Max into their car, they noticed a note taped on a pole near the pup, which explained exactly what happened to him.

The note read: “I’m a good boy. I am 17 years old. My name is Max. My owners can’t take care of me no more. Please help me!”

CPC got into contact with the local authorities in order to find good boy Max a temporary home where he could finally relax and decompress. They also decided to take this opportunity and explain that this entire situation could have been easily avoided.

“Max is not the first, nor will he be the last dog abandoned in a park. We believe this could’ve been avoided if more people are aware of our services. We are not a rescue, BUT we will help problem solve with you to the best of our ability. We’ll do it without judgment because we want pet owners to feel safe coming to us for help,” they added.

Everything Will Be Okay

The CPC later updated us that, after his medical examinations, Max was taken in by the incredible humans at HumaneCNY who found him a loving temporary home.

He is being treated for infections in his eyes and ears as well as his arthritis, but other than that, this sweet boy is thriving!

Max loves all this new care and attention he is receiving. Since he is significantly underweight, his new hoomans are making sure to give him all the healthy and nutritious foods he needs in order to get him to a desired weight.

I am sure that with time, this sweet pup will get big and strong, allowing him to find a loving forever family who will provide him with the happy life he deserved all along.Good luck, Max. Good things are coming… I am sure of it!
