Two little dogs couldn’t hide how lost and confused they felt after they were dumped in a California park.
Curled up under a bench, the friends comforted each other. They kept hoping that their owners would return for them and take them home.
As days passed, the two dogs started accepting the fact that they were abandoned and their hearts became dimmed with sadness.
A Good Samaritan noticed the lonely souls while they were lying in the park.
Wishing to help them, she left each dog a towel, some food, and water.
The dogs felt grateful for her kindness. Now more than ever before, they believed that someone would soon bring them to safety.
A Rescuer Rushes To Help Them
The lady shared their story on social media, urging people to help them.
Arturo Flores, a volunteer at Logan’s Legacy 29, a rescue in Irvine, California, responded to the call for help.
Flores loaded up his equipment and rushed to the scene, determined to rescue the two abandoned pups.
As soon as he arrived at the park, he spotted the dogs. The two friends were lying on their own towels, gazing into the distance and waiting for help.
Flores approached the dogs who were relieved that someone had come for them.
He started talking to the pups, hoping to build trust with them.
One of the dogs trusted Flores right off the bat, but the other dog was overwhelmed with fear.
After the big-hearted man captured the friendly pup, he set a crate with treats for the other dog.
The scared pup wanted to be rescued, but he still wasn’t ready to trust Flores.
From a safe distance, he watched the rescuer as he showered his friend with love.
Two Bonded Friends Feel Hopeful About Their Future
The pup noticed how kind Flores was toward his friend and his fear started melting away.
He also wanted to get some cuddles.
“So after some time he watched Arturo giving love to his friend and decided he wanted some of that love,” Suzette Hall, the founder of Logan’s Legacy 29 wrote on Facebook.
The dog decided to put his trust in the rescuer and he surrendered himself.
When Hall picked them up, the sweet friends looked at her with eyes filled with gratitude.
As the rescuer drove them to the vet, the pups drifted to sleep. They felt safe and content because they were rescued.
“And they settled down and fell asleep on each other. I know they were so tired, but so happy someone came,” Hall added.
The bonded friends sensed that from now on, their lives would take a turn for the better.
