Tears As Golden Retriever Bows Head In Sorrow After Being The Last Dog Left At Daycare

Have you ever been the last kid picked up from kindergarten? Then, you know how heartbreaking those final moments can be while waiting for your family to show up.

Well, our furry friends are no exception!

In fact, many pets are so attached to their humans that they find it really hard to wait for that clock to strike 6 PM. To make things worse, they are often left all alone with daycare workers, watching all their buddies happily go home.

That’s exactly what happened to Lincoln, a Tennessee Golden Retriever whose sad facial expression left the entire internet heartbroken!

Where Is Mommy?

For Lincoln, that day began like any other.

He arrived at the Pleasant View Pet Spa & Country Boarding Retreat in Tennessee, had a blast with his daycare furriends, and then, as he always did, waited for his mommy, Meghan, to arrive.

The daycare is typically open until 6 PM., and his owner usually picks him up around 5:15, but that day was different. Due to a late call she received, Meghan delayed her pick-up time for half an hour, unknowingly leaving Lincoln as saddened as a dog could be.

In a TikTok video posted on her account, the daycare’s security camera captured Lincoln sitting outside with Holly, his handler, and his reaction soon went viral.

In the video, he literally bowed his head in sorrow, while Holly wrapped her arms around him, trying to provide some comfort.

“When all your friends leave daycare,” the video states.

He just couldn’t understand why Meghan wasn’t showing up yet – and why, all of a sudden, all his buddies left him.

“Looks directly at camera: ‘Mom, you seeing this, I’m terribly traumatized by being left behind’, 🤣 ” one commenter wrote.

“I know his pain. I used to hate being the last one to get picked up in kindergarten. 😭,” another added.

Finally, Meghan arrived fifteen minutes before closing, and Lincoln couldn’t hide his happiness. When she learned about his heartbreak, she and the family decided to make it up to him by treating Lincoln to some delicious snacks and a pup cup!

Needless to say, he forgave them instantly!

At the end of 2024, Lincoln will be celebrating his third year in Meghan’s home. He arrived as a teeny-tiny Goldie pup who immediately became the center of the family’s attention.

Back in the day, he shared the home with Meghan’s late dog, Oliver. The two spent amazing time together, and thanks to Ollie, Lincoln picked up all the good doggo manners.

Today, he’s more than happy to share his time with his momma, but if one thing’s certain about Lincoln, it’s that he’s definitely a social butterfly!

On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, he spends the day at doggie daycare, while on other days, he has a blast with his family!

Lincoln regularly visits many cool places, including lakeside resorts, water parks, nature spots, cities, and more.

One of his all-time favorite activities is dipping into a pool or essentially any place that has water (isn’t he a real Golden Retriever or what?).

However, at the end of the day, Lincoln truly loves being around his family the most. He’s a loyal dog who happily shares his love with his hoomans, and the last daycare ordeal is exhibit A!
