When you picture an office in your mind, you probably imagine cubicles, desks, and different kinds of workplaces all around the building.
However, one thing that most of us would probably never expect to see in an office is a dog, or rather, multiple dogs in one workplace.
How does that work and why do people have dogs in the office? Well, it’s really simple for this auction house, because they decided to run their business a little differently.
An Ideal Workplace
Even in the early days of Bellmans auction house, the owners were very keen on allowing dogs into the workplace.
One such dog that probably enjoys his job more than the others is Claude. He is a very special dog who is very bossy to his coworkers.
Any time some other dog comes to the reception, Claude is always there sniffing them to make sure they are okay to come in.
Whenever one of his coworkers comes into work with food, this dog loves to give her the puppy eyes in hopes that she will give him some of her lunch.
However, when Claude is tired of working so hard, he will take a small break and just lie down in the middle of the office.
This means that his human coworkers will have to go around him so they don’t disturb his precious naptime.
He has been there since he was very small, so it’s normal that he feels like this office is also his home. Workers like to joke that he ‘runs’ Bellmans.
There Are Other Dogs In The Office
There are also other dogs there, like Missy, Nelly, and Peggy. Claude likes playing with them and they always look adorable.
They also have two Black Labradors who are really into paintings, but they interact a bit less with the other office dogs.
Sometimes, the staff like to use Claude as a face for some of the products and he is always more than happy to take pictures for them.
Because he is so well treated, I think it’s safe to say that he feels slightly important, but in a good way. Everyone in the office loves him so much.
He has been coming to his office job, nine to five for the past 10 years, and that is quite impressive when you think about it.
In fact, on the off chance that Claude can’t make it into the office for some reason, everyone at work feels very weird not having him there.
He has gained the love and respect of all his human colleagues and they just can’t imagine not seeing him there every day.
As we can see, this business takes pride in allowing their employees to bring their dogs to work, which definitely helps in more ways than one.
They are valuable members of the team and I hope they get to enjoy many more years in their favorite workplace.
