A stray puppy, initially afraid of being hurt, has seen a transformation, within just hours of being rescued. A Rahima family discovered the bully puppy curled up on their doorstep and contacted Stray Rescue of St. Louis. Louis for help.
Share Stray Rescue of St. Louis in a Facebook video that they received a phone call about a dog showing up on someone’s porch. Concerned for her health as she seemed unable to move, they quickly jumped into action.
A rescue volunteer named Donna approached the puppy cautiously, offered her treats, and spoke calmly to her. Gradually building trust Donna was able to secure a leash around the dog’s neck while reassuring her that no harm would come her way.
Babbitt was hesitant and unsure at first, and reluctantly followed Donna into the truck to pick him up. But during this journey toward freedom, toward safety, and care, Babbitt began to relax and breathe easier, according to Stray Rescue of St. Louis. Louis.
As Babbitt gradually realized that she was in control, she let her guard down even more. By the time they reached the shelter, it was clearly visible. Completely, at ease.
“I crawled into the lap of one of our volunteers and drifted off to sleep, a moment both beautiful and sad,” the rescue expressed in a Facebook update. “All she craved was kindness. It’s sad to think she’s been deprived of it until now.”
When she woke up they decided to give her a bath, which made Babbitt happy. Fortunately, Babette quickly found a family where she met another puppy who looked like her.
“Babbit was cuddling with them on the sofa. She absolutely adores their dog, he’s her doppelgänger!” Lost Rescue shared. “Look at these two; they’re simply perfect together!”
Stray Rescue added: “This little dog was so afraid of getting hurt when we first met her, so seeing her longing, for comfort after hours is truly painful. Dogs don’t ask for much in return; they shower you with an abundance of love and loyalty. “
