Lee Asher grew up in Los Angeles, California with a family of nine animals that he rescued and cared for. Since he was a child, Asher has felt a calling to help animals in need, and over the years he has managed to rescue 16 of them.
During his years, Asher would spend time at a local animal shelter immersed in animal rescue. This experience shaped his understanding that his purpose in adulthood would revolve around rescuing animals and finding them loving homes whenever possible.
In an interview with The Dodo Asher, he said he currently has seven dogs named Yaffa, Molly, Cali, BoBo, Butters, Haven and Lillie. In addition, two cats named Whiskey and Goose also found their way to his house.
All of these animals were rescued from forms of abandonment. Now live a happy life as a result.
Asher passionately explained his motivation behind saving animals by saying;
“Inspiration comes from my love of dogs and realizing that by saving one dog’s life through my rescue efforts, I am opening doors for other rescued animals to be adopted as well.” It is truly a win-win situation that fills him with a sense of accomplishment.
